Hosszúhetény lies in the eastern end of the Mecsek Hills. Its natural beauty and the hospitality of the inhabitants attract visitors here from lands far away. At the northern foot of the hill we find Püspökszentlászló, where we may find a chapel and an arboretum beside the classic Baroque country house. During our hike we may stumble upon the traces of ancient glass smelting. Glass smelting was practised for over a century in the eastern Mecsek on the estates of the Pécsvárad Abbacy and the Pécs Bishopric. From the end of the 17th Century until the beginning of the 19th Century glass was melted and blown by German and Czech master craftsmen in four workshops.

Sights:
Hosszúhetény – Glass Museum: Part of the material comes from excavations at the Pusztabánya glass-smelting workshop, whilst the rest of the exhibits derive from the Glass Symposia held in Pécs at the end of the 1980’s, and include works from several world-famous glass artists. The exhibition is housed in the old Cultural Centre of Hosszúhetény.
